Originally a Jewish Shelter House in 1902, Hooverwood has become a well-regarded, not-for-profit skilled nursing facility in Indianapolis, specializing in rehabilitation, dementia care, and adult day services. While upholding the values of Judaism, we welcome residents and families of all faiths and backgrounds.

Beyond our long-term care, Hooverwood provides high-quality short-term rehab services to improve you or your loved one's quality of life. We provide physical, speech, and occupational therapy under the guidance of skilled therapists and a customized treatment plan. We are proudly certified as a Music & Memory facility, using individualized music systems that bring therapeutic benefits and joy to residents with Alzheimer's and dementia. 

Hooverwood's campus features two specialized dementia units, with skilled memory care providers on five resident neighborhoods. Our medical directors are affiliated with the St. Vincent Center for Healthy Aging. Additionally, our facility provides 24/7 skilled nursing care, restorative nursing programs, geriatric psychiatry and psychology, a full-service dental clinic, as well as podiatry services.
